Meet and Eat This Week
Please join Meet and Eat this Sunday, August 27 as we talk more about what projects could help to Refresh the church building and what steps would be helpful in making decisions about the Refresh project. Thank you to all who helped provide feedback last Sunday. All the responses from Meet and Eat as well as those collected during worship have been tallied and are posted on the Parlor walls. Take a look!
Food Bank needs
The Food Bank has been serving an increasing numbers of families. In order to reduce the amount of food our shoppers need to purchase, we will be asking for donations of the most needed food items each week. Currently, our most needed items are pancake mix and syrup. We will also be needing cash donations. Shoppers are still needed for September 13 and 27.
Thank you
I wanted to thank the church for their donation of a rainbow bench to the gardens. We have located it looking out over the fruit tree guilds where there are many natives and food plants. It is a beautiful shady place with a lot to look at!
With the plaque donated by another garden friend, it sends a clear message that this is an inclusive and safe space for all just like our church family.
We ask that the church family pray for the continuation of this mission that not only provides fresh produce to the food insecure but works to build community while growing food together.
Blessings,
Diana Hart
Garden Director

NEXT SUNDAY: september 3, 2023
Theme: Kindle a flame
We’re raging! How are we called to respond to the fires within and around us? Which do we quench, which do we stoke? Fire, like passion, is a gift that can be dangerous. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, said “I came to bring fire to the earth and how I wish it were already kindled.
To prepare, please read Luke 12:49-56.
